Notice Important Changes!!!

Please Read

At the Annual Meeting of the National Field Archers Association (NFAA) this past February, changes were made in both shooting Divisions (age) and shooting Styles to begin effective June 1st. Unfortunately timing is everything and OBH was unable to make the changes for our Indoor Tournaments. As stipulated in the Oregon Bowhunters Bylaws, our OBH tournaments need to align with NFAA with regards to Divisions and Styles. These new changes mainly involve the adding new age divisions and expanding the shooting styles to certain age divisions.

How does this effect you? The main impact is to those of you who wish to participate in the annual Triple Crown Awards. You must remain in the same shooting Style for all three OBH State Championships to be eligible. If you should decide to shoot in one of the new shooting Styles now being offered, you will not be eligible for the Triple Crown awards. We will track the previous age Divisions through remaining two events and award the Triple Crown based on the Divisions shoot at the Indoor Championship.

Here is a summary of the new changes:

Senior age has dropped to 50+ from (55+)
Added new Silver Senior 60+
Master Senior age has increased to 70+
Adult age stays at 18+

Master Senior, Silver Senior, Senior Divisions can shoot all styles (previously M/S was limited to FS, FSL & BB). Remember if you enter a new shooting style you will not be eligible for the Triple Crown.

Young Adult, Youth & Cub added the BHFS style (remember if you enter this shooting style you will not be eligible for the Triple Crown)

Next year (2014) OBH plans to offer the new shooting Divisions and Styles for the Triple Crown Awards.

If you have concerns with the new changes by NFAA, please direct these suggestions to officers, directors and councilmen of the NFAA. The OBH NFAA director is Mike Thomas at Foothillsdental@hotmail.com.
